Richard Milton Hain

Richard M. Hain passed away Monday, July 23rd, 2018 at the age of 85 following a lengthy battle with colon cancer. He was born on September 17, 1932, in Massillon, Ohio. He served in the United States Air Force in electronic security command as a Chief Master Sergeant from 1951 to 1974. He had top secret/crypto and special access clearances in special intelligence during that time. During his time in the service he was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Air Crew Member Wings, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Subsequent to his military service he worked as the manager of Radio Shack, an electronics retail store chain until 1976. From 1976 to the present he worked as a co-owner and director of Omnibus-M Inc. dba San Antonio Security. Additionally he was senior vice-president, director, and Secretary of United Central Control from 1998 until the company’s sale in 2016. He also served as treasurer, secretary, and president of the South Texas Alarm Association from 1985-1987.

Dick was beloved by all who knew him. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time in Las Vegas, and playing cards and sharing a meal and great times with his friends, Don and Sally Munford and Cindy Cano. He was a man of many talents and experiences, having spent time overseas during his years of service, and travelling with his cherished wife, Noriko, until her death. He was so grateful for the years of caregiving he received from his friend and business associate, Linda Menesess.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Noriko Hain. He is survived by nephews Robert W. Hain, Jr., Bradly S. Hain, Michael Hain, and Lyle B. Good and nieces Trisha Schrader and Beki Theken.

Visitation will be at Sunset North Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services will be in Shelter # 1 at Ft. Sam Houston on Wednesday, August 8th at 10:00AM.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, The Humane Society, or to a charity of choice in his memory.
