Richard H. Barker

Richard H. Barker, retired Air Force and Civil Servant entered into rest June 19, 2010 in San Antonio at the age of 67. A member of Northeast Bible Church, he was born April 10, 1943 in Rocky Branch, KY to the late David N. Barker & Blanche F. (Ison) Barker. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Ima Violet Barker in 2008. Survivors include his step sons Bob Cates & wife Jeanette, Tim Cates & wife Jeanette; grandchildren Stephanie Fellows, Jennifer Cates, Vicki Bass, Devri Owens, Crystal Cates, Robin Steinher, Kimberly Steinher, Kyle King; six great grandchildren; two brothers Allen Barker, Denzil Barker & wife Pat; two sisters Dorothy Ison & husband Sam, Marcella Manning & husband Clint; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 23 at Sunset Funeral Home with the committal service to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
