Ralph joined the Marine Corp in 1957 after graduating from Lanier High School. He then went on to work civil service for the Defense Mapping Agency for over 30 years all while serving in the Army reserves for over 30 years as well. Ralph was very active in his church at St. Thomas More and was in the Guadalupanos Society as well as the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, he loved to golf, dance, sing, travel, talk about cars, and tell his jokes. He was truly a family man and never missed any event his sons were a part of. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his father Wincar Garcia; Mother Maria Garcia; Sisters Rose Flores and Margaret Harmon; and brothers-in-law.
He is survived by his wife Elda Garcia; Sons, David, Eddie, Gary, Ralph, and Gerald Garcia; Daughter-in-laws Kristin Garcia and Kimberly Pecan; Grandsons Aiden, Noah, and Ralph Gregory Garcia; Sister Isabel Herrera; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The visitation will be at 5:30 pm, Sunday, December 11, 2022, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with the rosary to begin at 7pm. The funeral mass will be 10am, Monday, December 12, 2022, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. The graveside burial will be 1:30 pm, Tuesday December 13, 2022, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery (Shelter #3) with Military honors.
