Ora moved to San Antonio in 1974 with her husband and family after spending more than 22 years as an Army wife making a home for her family wherever her husband was stationed both in Europe and across the US. In 1974 Ora began a career as a nurse at Methodist Mission Home where she would work for the next 24 years until her retirement. Ora joined Eisenhauer Rd. Baptist Church in 1974 and was a faithful member until her death serving as a Sunday school teacher and Kitchen Committee chair. Serving God and her family were Ora’s life passions.
Preceded in death by her husband, William Baker, Ora leaves to mourn her children, Faye Costley, Rickie Baker (Cynthia), Vickie Reece (Lonnie), Lola Chriss (Doug), grandchildren; Jennifer, Kelly (Austin), Tracy, Doug Jr, Greg, and a host of nieces, nephews and other close family friends.
Visitation on Monday, October 26th from 6-9 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 27th at 11:30 am with Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery to follow.
