Norma Jean Youngblood

Norma is survived by her cherished daughter, Valerie Youngblood, and her devoted mother, Esther. Her love and dedication to her family were evident in everything she did, always putting others before herself.

A graduate of the University of Maui, where she earned her associate's degree, Norma and Valerie enjoyed four wonderful years living in paradise.

In the 1980s, Norma was known as “Norma Jean Disco Queen,” sharing her love for music as a DJ. She had an eclectic taste in music, with a special fondness for Motown, Earth, Wind & Fire, and The Commodores. Though she once dabbled in modeling, she was not a “photo person.”

Norma was a true “Jill of all trades,” embodying strength and resilience with her signature “kiwi eyes.” Her elegant style included pretty blouses and business casual clothing, and she passion for gardening gave her a green thumb that brought beauty to her surroundings. Some of her favorite flowers were gardenias, red roses, and orchids.

A lover of the beach and ocean, Norma treasured building her seashell collection on every trip, despite her inability to swim no matter how many times Valerie tried to teach her. She cherished the Disney trips with Valerie and loved cooking for her daughter, even when one particularly buttery batch of tortillas became a comical memory.

Norma’s favorite color was purple, and she will be remembered for her kind heart, vibrant spirit, her strong willed personality, and her sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her.

Norma Jean Youngblood's legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
