Nancy Braswell Templeton passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born and raised in San Antonio, was in the Cotillion in her youth and she had also worked at the Witte Museum. She graduated from Smith College and then served in the Navy as an officer in the Secret Code in D.C. during World War II. She then received her Masters from Trinity University and served as a senior high school counselor at both Lanier and Edison High Schools. She was a member and officer of many service organizations including President of the Texas Extension Home makers Organization and was a Princess in the Daughters of the Nile, Nekodah Temple #44. She also served as a Sunday School Teacher. She is survived by her husband, W.H. “Bill” Templeton, two daughters; two granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren. The graveside service and interment with military honors will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 9:45 A.M. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Rev. Scott Simpson officiating.
