He was preceded in death by parents Demeter and Anna Billy; by wife, Mary; by daughter, Lynn; and brother, Emil (wife Virginia). He is survived by son Dale, daughter-in-law Wendy, grandkids Ryan, Eric, Hannah; and son David, daughter-in-law Cheerie and step-grandson Christian. Surviving him in Ohio are his Aunt Margaret Schraff, brother-in-law Paul Dzeiak, nephews Damian (wife Margaret), and Shawn (wife Sharon); niece Rosanne (husband Denny); and numerous cousins and friends.
Myron proudly served in the military and was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. While serving he received several medals and awards including the Bronze Star and Air Medal. He was an active supporter of St. Pius X church for 50 years. Myron was a voracious reader and avid golfer. His many friends and family will miss his sense of humor and generous spirit. They will not miss his stubbornness. The family wishes to express thanks to the special people who helped him through the years, including his caregiver Rosalie Morales and the staff at Parklane for their kindness and excellent care.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p m. Funeral Mass will be noon, Monday, Sept. 15, at St Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. A gathering will follow at St. Pius Family Center. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
