Mary Virginia Jackson, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at the age of 89. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to parents Oliver and Hattye Heubaum, on June 22, 1922. Mary was a devoted and loving mother that dedicated her life to her children and their happiness. She kept active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, assisting at their school, and of course, church. She loved attending Cornerstone Church with her family. Later in life she was a retail clerk at Montgomery Wards for over ten years. Mary was always there for her children and family through good times and difficult times. Her children remember her for being a devoted mother and an unbelievable cook (especially during the holiday meals). She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Hattye Heubaum; her loving husband, Charles S. Jackson, and her two sons, Barry and Tony Jackson. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Browning and her husband Bill; son, Lee Charles Jackson and his wife Donna; five grandchildren, Phillip and Patrick Browning, and Christopher, Presley and David Jackson; seven great-grandchildren, Brooke, Zachary and Grant Jackson, Samantha and Sarah Delaney Browning, and Kaitlyn Browning Hanlon and her husband Devon; numerous nieces, nephews and friends; and her loyal eleven-year companion, her little dog, Dee-Dee. The family will have a Visitation at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., when a Funeral Service will begin.
