Mary D. Garcia

Mary D. Garcia; beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, entered eternal rest on October 28, 2015 at the age of 92. A native of San Antonio, she was born to Petronilo and Maria Diaz on October 11, 1923, and now reunites with her parents; husband, Fernando Henrico Garcia; sons, Johnny and Samuel J. Garcia; sister, Nicolasa Salinas; and brother, Manuel J. Diaz. She is survived by her children: Jose Luis Garcia, Fernando D. Garcia, Leonard D. Garcia (Hilda), Michael D Garcia (Jeannette), Daniel D. Garcia (Dona), Veronica D. Garcia; grandchildren: Richard Daniel Garcia, Erica M. Pena, Adrian D. Garcia, Angela V. Garcia, Sarah Nicolle Garcia, Jesiccea Lorraine Garcia; great-grandchildren, Spain Librando Garcia, Ryan D. Castro; sister, Elisa Sauceda; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mary was a social person who enjoyed her time with a cold one in hand, listening to music, dancing, playing bingo, or pressing her luck on slot machines. She loved her San Antonio Spurs and was one of the original “baseline bums.” She will be missed by all who knew her. The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. to celebrate a 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Please express your condolences on our online guest book.
