At a young age she worked at her parents’ grocery store before becoming a hairdresser. Before marrying, she traveled extensively with her beloved grandmother Dona Maria and continued her love for traveling with family.
In 1957, she married the love of her life Richard E. Ferguson and gave him three daughters. In addition to raising their daughters she was a devout Christian, a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha supporting St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and Seniors helping Seniors to help those in need.
Mary is survived by her daughters; Carol (David R.) Gutierrez, Sandra (John G. III) Lauber and Irene Ferguson, and grandchildren, Julie (Daniel) Stewart, Jason Gutierrez, John (Dessimber) Lauber IV, Ryan Lauber and great grandson’s Myles and Jaxxon Stewart. She is also survived by her sister, Marina “Conie” Gamboa.
Funeral Mass begins at 10:30 am Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 102 Lorenz Rd. Graveside Services at 2:00pm at San Fernando Cemetery III.
