Mary Kathleen Chittenden

Mary K was born to Clifford B. Bronson and Palmera L. Drain on December 15, 1939 in Corsicana, Texas.

She graduated with an Associates Degree from Navarro College in Corsicana. She married Douglas Van Talkington in 1959 and they lived in San Antonio, Texas and raised two sons together.

After Van’s passing she married Carrol “Chitt” Chittenden in 2000 and they lived in New Braunfels, Texas.

In 2020, after Chitt passed away, she moved to Athens, Georgia to live with her son and his family.

She is survived by her sons - Douglas Van Talkington, Jr, James Drain Talkington (Page), and her step-sons - Robert Chittenden (Lynette), Scott Chittenden (Jude), and Chad Chittenden (Erika). She has 8 grand children, and 1 great grand child, and a bother Philip Bronson.

Mary K worked for USAA for almost 30 years as an Executive Assistant. She loved to dance and go fishing. She enjoyed traveling as often as she could and spending time with her grandchildren. She was active in her Church for many years and served on the Altar Guild and ministered in Honduras.

A service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11am at the Sunset Memorial Chapel followed by graveside ceremony. There will be general viewing starting at 10am.
