Marvin was born to the late Marvin T. Trayler and Juanita Williams Trayler on March 28th, 1943 in Taylor, Texas. Marvin served 20 years in the Air Force before retiring and settling in Warner Robins, Georgia shortly after marrying, Wanda Inez Brookins on September 19th, 1979. During that time, Marvin worked on Robins Air Force Base in Civil Services. He also became a devoted Boy Scout leader which happened to meet on the property of The Salvation Army. It was through an invitation to a worship service that he made The Salvation Army his home church and there gave his life to the Lord. Marvin served many years as the Corps Sergeant Major (lead lay minister) at the Warner Robins Corps before moving to full time ministry as an officer with The Salvation Army. The Traylers were appointed in 1993 to Milledgeville, Georgia and held appointments in Valdosta, Georgia; Greenville, Texas and San Antonio Center of Hope. After retiring from full time ministry, he devoted his time to ministry at The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center serving as chaplain to the men. He counted that time as his greatest joy in service.
Marvin Trayler is survived by his family: his wife Wanda Brookins Trayler; his six children: Marvin Edward (Nancy) Trayler, Rodney Earl Trayler, John Jacob (Lisa) Trayler, Mary Rebecca (William) Jones, Matthew Thomas (Rebecca) Trayler, Krystal Bell Trayler. Marvin was the proud grandfather to 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Marvanne (Richard) Hill of Victoria, Texas; his brother Jim (Janice) Trayler of Coleman, Texas.
