Mario attended Laredo Martin High school, it was in this high school where met his wife, Delia Leal. He was known to be a hardworking man, always making sure to provide for his family. Mario worked for life insurance for ten years, before opening his own insurance company, Escobedo Insurance Agency. He worked in his own company for about 15 years before retiring. Mario was a big sports fanatic, he was a fan of the following teams; the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Astros. He never played but never missed a game. Mario loved to dance and he also loved music. He listened to many different types of genres from tejano to mariachi. In addition, he was passionate about lowriders, lowrider culture, and classic cars.
He is preceded in death by his parents Agustin Escobedo and Sara Ruiz Escobedo; wife Delia Leal Escobedo; siblings Maria Del Carmen Escobedo, Gonzalo Escobedo (Catalina T.), Concepcion (Jose) Zamarripa; brother in law, Manuel Hernandez;and sister in law, Lydia Escobedo.
He is survived by his children, San Juanita Arevalo (Charles) Arevalo, Veronia (Orlando) Hernandez, Delia (Richard) Rodriguez, Mario Escobedo Jr. (Gloria), and Leonor (William) Abell, Veronica; grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer), Sara, Kimberly (Edward), Priscilla (Jimmy), Kassandra (Nathan), Stephanie (Eric), Jennifer (Michael), Melissa (Matt), Maggie (Ricky), Mario III, Angelica, Veronica (Paul) and Alejandro. Great grandchildren, Nate, Mila, Kamilla, Jack, Aiden, James, Edward, Valerie, Marc Anthony, Adnan, Jenesis, Nevaeh, Faith, Sophia, Mary, Jesse, Hailey, Joey, Isabel, Maya Johnny, and Victor; sister in law, Leonor Cantu; siblings, Raul Escobedo and Sara Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the caring staff of St. Francis Nursing Home for all of their caring support during this difficult time.

A visitation for Mario will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A rosary service will occur Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 7:00 PM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A mass of resurrection will occur Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78228. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at San Jose Burial Park, 8235 Mission Road, San Antonio, Texas 78214.
