Marie Laman was born to Hugh H. and Graicie Alberta L. Rone as Daisy Marie Rone in Lewisburg, TN on August 29, 1935. While she was a young girl, her family relocated to Uvalde, TX where her mother worked as a seamstress for Levi Jeans Company and baked fresh bread for several local restaurants; and her father held various positions to help provide for their small family. After high school graduation she began a career as a telephone operator for Southwest Bell and it was during this time frame where she was introduced to Roland Robert Laman, Jr. as he was teaching her father to become a watch repairman. They celebrated their love through marriage in 1957 and started to grow their own family through the births of their two sons. Roland Robert Laman III, and William Jackson Laman. Marie was always proud of her role as wife and mother and immersed herself in making sure her family received the most of what she could provide through raising her boys to be the best partners for their future wives and their own families, being a Den Mother for their Cub Scout Troops, continuing to help with Boy scouts time, mending scrapes and bruises for everything from bicycles, to mini bikes to motorcycles; not only for her children, but all her boys, including her husband (who also learned to ride motorcycles when he was 50). Her love of life led her on adventures of camping, motorcycle road trips, becoming a loving and supportive Mother-in-Law, the proudest grandma and even prouder Great Grandma. Marie was very social and thrived in her friendships through family, church, work, and loved making conversations with others while sharing a line at the grocery store. There was never a stranger in her heart.
