Marianne Schumacher, a long time resident of San Antonio, died 21 August at her home surrounded by family. Born in 1932 in Dorfen, Germany, she grew up in Erding. There she met her husband of 54 years, Manfred, and they lived various places in the World during his Air Force Career. She was a homemaker and mother, raising her two sons, David and his wife, Karen of New Braunfels, TX, and Daniel and his wife, Julie of Madison, AL. "Oma", as she was affectionately known to her family, enjoyed cooking, talking with friends, and walking. She is survived by her four grandchildren, Ryan and Eric, of New Braunfels, TX, and Sarah Marie and John, of Madison, AL. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 23, 2010 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road. Memorial Gifts may be made to the National Lung Cancer Partnership.
