She was born Maria Luisa Bautista in Guerrero Viejo, Mexico, to the late Fulgencio Bautista and Florinda Lopez. She married her late husband Antonio Zuazua and moved to Laredo, Texas where they lived happily for over 55 years. She is survived by her four sons, Hector L. Zuazua and his wife Lydia M. Zuazua, Carlos R. Zuazua and his wife Martha G. Zuazua, Antonio Zuazua, Jr., and Robert D. Zuazua and his wife Diana L. Zuazua. She is also survived by her grandchildren Monica Y. Zuazua Rubalcaba, Marcos X. Zuazua, Victor D. Zuazua, Lora M. Zuazua, David A. Zuazua, Cristina L. Zuazua, Robert A. Zuazua, Jessica D. Zuazua, Michael D. Zuazua, her two great-grandchildren Eli Rubalcaba and Madison Rubalcaba, and her nieces and nephews that provided her much love and support throughout her life. Maria Luisa was preceded in death by her loving husband, and is also preceded in death by her beautiful sisters Eufemia Romero, Ofilia Aguirre, and Alicia Buentello.
Maria Luisa will be remembered as a loving wife and devoted mother who provided endless love to her family and friends. We will greatly miss her conversations, company, and her daily blessings and rosary prayers. We take comfort that she’s now in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and with her beloved Virgin Mary.
Visitation will be held on Thursday January 17th from 6:00-9:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at the Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd., San Antonio, TX, 78238. A mass will be held on Friday January 18th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, 6907 Kitchener St., San Antonio, Tx. The burial will take place at 12 noon at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Laredo Tx. on Monday, January 21, 2019
