Maria Luisa Camacho de Lopez, 82, entered eternal rest on September 4, 2017. Mrs. Lopez was born on June 21, 1935 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. In 1958 she met, fell in love and married Eddie C. Lopez Jr and moved to San Antonio, Texas to begin her new life. Although now proudly living in America and giving birth to three children, she nurtured her Mexican heritage and would go on to influence and shape the Hispanic cultural landscape of South Texas through lectures, interviews and the Ballet Folklorico Mexicano which performed traditional dances of Mexico. Her willingness to tirelessly share the culture of Mexico would and continues to have an everlasting impact on the arts and individuals to this day.
Also, a truly devout Catholic, her selfless disposition and compassionate heart would play an important part in her selfless concern for the well-being of others. Never one to question God's wishes, her profound faith, in sickness and in health, would serve as a guiding light through life's trials and tribulations. Her legacy as a loving wife, caring mother, sister, aunt and friend shall forever be forged in the hearts and souls of everyone she met. Vaya con dios y descansa en paz nuestra madrecita linda.
Mrs. Lopez is survived by daughter, Rose M. Lopez, sons Ralph Lopez and Eddie C. Lopez III, sisters Guillermina, Graciela and Maria Esther, daughter-in-law, Veronica Garcia-Lopez, partner Lisa Zarate and family friend Sylvia Gomez Sepulveda.Arrangements under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, San Antonio, TX.
