Maria "Susie" Muñoz Gomez

Maria Munoz Gomez, age 76, of San Antonio, TX, passed away August 4th, 2021. She was born in Alice, TX on October 7th, 1944 to Francisco and Santos Munoz. She was married to Anastacio T. Gomez for 55 years. Susie worked primarily as a home maker and was also employed with Calallen ISD for 8 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters at St. Thomas Church in Corpus Christi, TX. Susie had a passion for her faith and love of God, her grandchildren, her two dogs Pebbles and Snoopy, and caring for plants and flowers.

She is preceded in death by her parents Francisco Hernandez Munoz and Santos Lara, and her one and only sister Herlinda Perez.

She is survived by her husband Anastacio T. Gomez and her three children Alfredo Gomez (Elizabeth Gomez), Sandra DeLaPaz (Joel De La Paz), and Ada Gomez Lopez (Jose Lopez).Susie had enormous love for her 12 grandchildren and prayed for them daily: Phillip Michael Gomez, Jonathan Daniel Gomez, Marc Anthony Gomez, Alyssa Gomez, Joshua Vargas, Ely Gutierrez, Evan Gutierrez, Edward Gutierrez, Marina Alyssa De La Paz, Jacob De La Paz, Jaiden Nathaniel Lopez and Alani Grace Lopez. Susie also had a total of 5 great grandchildren: Grayson Anthony Hernandez, Jonathan Daniel Gomez II, Giselle LeeAnn Gomez, Nathan Angelo Gutierrez and Allison Lynne Gutierrez. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly as her own.

We as a family have decided to share that given the fact that mom passed due to COVID19, we understand if friends, family and loved ones do not attend the services, as we do not wish to contribute to the spread. If friends, family and loved ones do decide to participate, we graciously ask that masks are required for all of the services. Family will be receiving guest for a visitation on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211. A rosary will be held at 7:00 pm. On Friday, August 27, 2021 we will be departing in procession from Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home at 9:15 am. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 at St. Pius X Church, 3303 Urban Crest Drive, San Antonio, TX 78209. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
