Maria De La Luz R. Mendez

Maria R. Mendez, born Nov. 20, 1931 in San Antonio, Tx. was called to be with the Lord on July 17, 2023 at the age of 91. Maria was the second oldest of 4 siblings born to Dionicio and Rafaela Rodriguez. Maria had many fond memories growing up in a large but close knit family with much teasing and laughter. Although Maria didn’t finish high school, later in her married years she attended business classes and graduated with Honors. Maria’s life was full of joy and pride over all her beautiful blessings; her 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 ½ great-great grandchildren. Her favorite time was family gatherings and gambling at Kick A Poo with her kids.

Maria is proceeded in death by Parents; Dionicio & Rafaela Rodriguez, Siblings; Frances R Bonoan (Charles), Raul Rodriguez, Children; Janie M. Ruiz, Geronimo R Mendez, Sandra M Medina, Granddaughter; Andrea (Maggie) Mendez.

She is survived by her Siblings; Felisa R Valdez (Beto), Elisa Powlas ( Ron), Sister in law; Micaela C Rodriguez, Daughter; Suzanne M Guajardo (Epifanio C), Son in law; Willie Medina, Albert D Ramos, Grandchildren; Esmeralda M Guajardo, Jessica Guajardo, Genie E Lopez, Albert G Ramos, Teresa Rose Ramos, Vanessa M Mendez, Jennifer Mendez, Amanda Fox (Jimmy), William Medina (Allison).

Maria Will be remembered by her beautiful smile and her fiery spirit that left a lasting impression with everyone she met.

The Visitation will be held held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.,Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237, followed by a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m.

Services will conclude in the chapel.
