I came across an email today that I exchanged with Isa. She was the sweetest soul and checked on me from time. I met her when I was 18 in esthetician school and she always rooted for me to pass my exams and prayed for the best for me in life. I’m 26 now and everything I talked with her about I ended up achieving. I am so saddened to come across her obituary but I am so thankful and grateful to have met an angel. I will never forget you and the kind, caring, sweet, person and soul you were. I know your spirit is rejoicing in heaven.  My condolences to the family. You all had such a sweet loving sister, Tia, and mother ♥️

To the family of Isabel Castro

OMG was I shocked to see this obituary. Isabel and I met at the YMCA when we were attending San Antonio College. We became good friends and did some things together.  She was the first person in my life that I went to Corpus Christi with.  I believe we went with her older sister.  I had been looking for Isabel for years. I wondered what became of her. I remember going over to her home over off close Kirk street somewhere. She graduated from Burbank and I graduated from Lanier High School. I moved to Austin in the 90's and to teach at St. Edward's University and came back to San Antonio in 2008 and taught at OLLU for a few years. I knew Isabel had a Middle name, but could not recall what it was.  I tried Maria today  and saw her obit. I am so sorry. We were good friends, but sometime during our friendship, I left San Antonio to visit my older brother who was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego. I stayed a few months there and then we lost contact. I know its been a couple of years now since she died, but I thought the world of Isabel. She was kind, caring and always laughing and smiling. She had a good head on her so I wondered what she pursued as her career. I would love to hear more about her if possible. You can reach me at docrodmj@gmail. com.

Maria is survived by her sisters and brothers, Maria Castro, Felix Castro, Joel Castro, Cutberto Castro, Francisco Castro, Maria del Carmen Castro, Daniel Castro and Enrique Castro; her aunt, Mrs. Maria Granado; Godsons, Frank J. Castro and Carlos Cruz Jr., numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
