Maria de la Luz Burgos, born on May 22, 1918 in Kansas City, Kansas went to be with the Lord on July 6, 2014 at the age of 96. She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Concepcion Rodriguez, her husband; Guadalupe Manuel Burgos, brothers; Juan and Jesus, and sisters; Eusebia and Dora. She is survived by her sister, Guadalupe Guerra, daughter; Matilde Burgos-Barbosa (Paul), grandchildren; Paul Anthony Barbosa (Melanie), Christina Maria Barbosa, great-granchildren; Antonio Manuel Barbosa, Isabel Barbosa, Isaac Barbosa, Pablo Barbosa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No. 2.
