Margaret S. Vasquez, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Margaret was born November 14, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in San Antonio to Roberto and Guadalupe Sanchez. Margaret is know by her family as "lil-bitty" because of her small stature. But-also as the strong matriarch of the family. Or, as she was lovingly known as the "Queen Bee." Margaret enjoyed jogging, shopping, going out to eat, and any Christmas activities, especially shopping for presents for her family. More than anything though, she loved gathering the family together and spending time with her grandchildren.
Margaret is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband of 70+ years, Joe Z. Vasquez; her son, Joe Vasquez Jr.; and her brothers, Martin Sanchez and Jesse Sanchez. She is survived by her daughters, Norma Benavidez (Ramon), Erma Hernandez, and Sandra Alvarez (Paul); her grandchildren, Vanessa Williams, Roxanne Benavidez, Annette Ramos, Maryann Barragan, Nicole Pacheco, Kimberly Hernandez, Mari Hernandez, Joseph Alvarez, Steven Alvarez, and Eric Alvarez; her sister, Marie Louisa Guerrero; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78205. A funeral procession will depart from the funeral home at 10:00 AM for a funeral mass on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1321 El Paso St, San Antonio, Texas 78207 with burial following at San Fernando #2 Cemetery, 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, Texas.
