Margaret H. Kwan at the age of 81 was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 2, 2017. She was born February 27, 1936 in Poteet, Texas. Raised on a ranch with four brothers and two sisters, Margaret helped and cared for her parents and siblings while raising many animals. She attended Burbank High School in San Antonio, Texas.
Margaret Kwan met Gene Kwan, the Love of her Life in 1963. Gene had mistakenly knocked on the wrong door and when he saw Margaret it was Love at first sight. Margaret had three children-two sons, Jesse and Ricky and her baby girl Rita whom Gene helped raise and love with all his heart as his own.
She worked many years at the downtown Baptist Hospital as a nurse. Many co-workers and friends lovingly knew her as "Kwanny." Favorite hobbies included embroidery and sewing, trying her luck on lottery scratch offs, as well as playing Loteria with the family.
Margaret Kwan was preceded in death by her parents; Prajedes Hernandez and Guadalupe Rios; six siblings and her husband, Gene Kwan. She is survived by her daughter Rita Gonzalez (Frank) and sons Jesse Moreno (Terry) and Ricky Moreno (Anna); 12 grandchildren Jeannie Salinas (David), Jewel Perez (Noe), Christopher Gonzalez (Jennifer), Frankie Gonzalez, Anna Ruelas (Richard), Kristi Alvarez, Gene Moreno (Tina), Jennifer Ruiz (Michael), Steven Moreno (Adrienne), Ricky Moreno, Jr., Victoria Moreno, Michael Moreno and Maritza Moreno; 10 great grandchildren Melanie Perez, Daisy Salinas, Gio Perez, Destiny Salinas, Riana Ruelas, Joseph Ruelas, Charlotte Gonzalez, Deverik Alvarez, Layla Moreno, Jayden Moreno, Azalea Moreno, Mikayla Ruiz, Octavio Moreno, Rosamilla Ramirez and Kimba, her beloved Chihuahua. A visitation will begin on Wednesday June 7, 2017 at 5:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. at Trevino Funeral Home at 226 Cupples Rd. The Funeral service will be on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 350 Sutton Dr, San Antonio, TX. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.
