Margaret Audrey Martin Jasper was born June 13, 1921 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Married Mark Smith Jasper July 10, 1942. She was married 56 years after knowing each other 3 weeks. Mark preceded Margaret in death July 13, 1998.
During World War 2, she worked at Baltic Aircraft Company as a riveted. After World War 2 ended, living in Pennsylvania, they decided to move South to warmer weather. they put all their belongings in a car and drove to Texas; ended in San Antonio, TX and never left. After retiring in 1980, they moved to Spring Branch, TX and Mark built a two story house on 3 acres. They had chickens, goats, and rabbits. They really enjoyed living in the country.
Two children: Carl Allan Jasper, San Antonio; Cheryl Ann Grubb, and husband Perry M. Grubb, Canyon Lake. Three grandchildren: Melissa Audrey Brown, Broken Arrow, OK; Richard Mark Jasper and wife Carissa Mar Jasper, Austin, TX; and Lesli Marie Tomasini, Park City, UT. Five great granchildren: Barron William Seratt (18) Broken Arrow, OK; Nolan Mark Seratt (15) Broken Arrow, OK; Zane Samuel Frank, deceased May 15, 2004; Annalyn Diane Tomasini (9) Broken Arrow, OK; and Hadley Brynn Jasper (6) Austin, TX.
Margaret was a homemaker when her children were school age. Enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and painting. Margaret started volunteer work at the North East Baptist Hospital in 1965, loved doing this work for 35 years.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
