Margie was born on November 13, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas, to Patrick and Elizabeth Farrell.
She married in December 1956 to the love of her life, Frank S. Dix Jr. They built a life and legacy together that has been passed to all generations to follow.
Her hard work and dedication led her to a 56-year career working for Western Union, at the age of 16, to retiring from Tesoro Petroleum Co.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend who will be dearly missed. Her energy and love for life was infectious to anyone who knew her. We will remember her sassy spirit and the way she could always make us laugh.
She is survived by her children, Steven (Janie) Hibdon, Frank Dix III, and Missy (David) Buchhorn; proud “Mommom” to Michael (Brandy), Kristy (Eric), Matthew, Ashlie (Cody) and Shelly (Colby); great-grandmother to Paige, Ainsley, Ryleigh and Jett. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home. The Graveside Service will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
