Marcelina Ruiz Medina

Marcelina R. Medina (Chelo) passed away to be with our Lord on Sunday February 19, 2017 at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian M. Medina, son-in-law Edward Felan Jr., parents and other family members. She is survived by her seven children; Mary Esperiqueta (Charlie), John A. Medina, Julian Medina Jr. (Jum Sun), Rebecca Ramirez (Peter), Patricia Mendiola (Gabriel), Rachel Felan and Marcos Medina, eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, sister Lupe Delgado, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Our mother was a woman of faith, love and patience. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church for over 60 years and was involved as a lector, funeral rosary leader, arts and craft group and hosted bible study at her home for a number of years. Her devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe was well known to her family and she was honored as Guadalupana of the year in 2003.

We are grateful to the staff of St. Francis Nursing Home for their loving, faith-filled care of our mother these past 10 months.

Visitation will be held Thursday February 23, 2017 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. San Antonio, Tx. 78237 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Friday February 24, 2017 a Visitation will continue at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church starting at 9:00 a.m. A Rosary will follow at 10:00 a.m. with a mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. From the church we will then go in procession to San Fernando Cemetery II for interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Grace Place or St. Francis Nursing Home.
