Though Makenzie’s life was short it was vibrant, filling the room with her light and love everywhere she went. She was kind, loving and gentle to everyone that she met. Soft Spoken and selfless spirit with a huge heart that was observed by all. She embraced life fully and welcomed new opportunities to discover how to help others.
She worked hard in school at Scarborough Elementary School and in her after school learning enrichment program at Learning Tree. And when sweet Makenzie got to enjoy her play time after her studies she loved to draw comics, learn how to bake, play video games, discover new foods and spices, arts and crafts, imaginary play with her stuffed animals and collecting Beanie-Boo’s.
More importantly she loved the time she spent with her family, playing Barbie’s with her sister, swimming, golfing, going to the lake, riding scooters, going to the park, playing with her beloved dog Jaimason and seeing and experiencing new animals she got to meet on these adventures.
Makenzie leaves behind her parents Nathan and Kristle Gongora, her younger sister Sophia Gongora, her grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins and to many friends to count. They will all cherish and hold dear the sweet sweet memories of their amazing Makenzie deep in their hearts.
A visitation will be held on March 6, 2021 from 4-7pm with a Celebration of life Service to follow at 7pm, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX, 78238. The family requests for those who attend her Celebration of Life to wear bright jubilant colors, to embrace the joy and bright beautiful light she spread into everyone’s life. A private family graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, where Makenzie will be laid to rest.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.SunsetNWFuneralHome.com for the Gongora family.
