Our dear mother Maggie entered her eternal rest on August 18, 2022. At 85 years young, she was a wonderful loving wife and mother who was the heart and soul of our family and center of our universe.
Growing up, Mom was always there for us whether we needed help with our homework, advice, a laugh, or just needed a shoulder to cry on. She was a woman of strong faith and instilled in us the importance of God, family, hard work and doing what was right. She was a true role model who we adored. Our family will forever treasure her memory.
Mom was proud alumnae of W.A. Pattillo High School in Tarboro, North Carolina where she was on the majorette dance team. She always looked forward to spending our summers visiting family in her hometown of Tarboro and vacations on the east coast, especially Myrtle Beach, Virginia Beach and Walt Disney World. She loved all holidays, celebrations and family bbq’s. Mom’s favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved everything about it. Her decorations won numerous awards. It was magical like we were in the North Pole.
Mom is survived by her husband of 66 years James, son Quintin, daughters Phyllis, Pamela and Stephanie Renee, granddaughter Stephanie Michelle (Rusty), and cousin Mary. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Rosa, her children Marvin, Terry, and twins Michelle and Michael, her aunt Mary, her grandmother Maggie, her cousin Rosa, her great grand-mother Nettie and others.
Our Mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of our family before her own.
She was an amazing wife and mother who supported us unconditionally through the many passions and difficulties of our lives. She kept the family together while our dad was serving our country in the Army and always supported our goals and dreams. Mom was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage, grace and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to us all and will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Mom will forever be in our hearts and we will never be forgotten. Being a mom was her greatest joy in life and we will love her for eternity.
A private family celebration of life service for Maggie will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218.
