Madeleine was born November 10, 1927 in Versailles, France. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hervé and Leonie Jaubert, her beloved husband of 42 years Joe A. Guerra Jr., Daughters Yvette Marcelle Guerra, Ginette Laurie Guerra, and Grandson Jason Rene Sanchez.
She is survived by her children; Joseph Michael Guerra and wife Cindy, Marie-Ange Sanchez and husband Rene, Desiree Adrienne Solis and husband Jaime, Marc-Andre Guerra and wife Rose, Denise Cecile Guerra, Regina Marie Weir and husband Paul, Eric Bernard Guerra, and Monique Gabrielle Boyle and husband Vince, 13 Grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and close friends.
After spending her childhood in Versailles, France, Madeleine traveled to America in 1945 at the age of 18. She lived in San Antonio for the past 67 years and was a lifelong member of the Alliance Francaise de San Antonio as well as the ALS Association of Texas - San Antonio chapter.
Madeleine’s joy came from spending time with her large family and her beloved cats. She enjoyed listening to classical music and her favorite operas. While she battled a form of ALS for over 30 years she always showed grace and strength in her everyday life. Her legacy lives on through her family and loved ones.
A visitation will begin Thursday, September 6th, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N. Main, 78205 from 6 PM to 9 PM; and Friday September 7th from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. A chapel service will be held at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with a procession to follow to San Fernando Cemetery II for the interment.
The family would like to extend an invitation to join them in the Celebration of the Life of Madeleine Jaubert Guerra at the conclusion of services at the Oak Hills Country Club, 5403 Fredericksburg Rd., from 3 PM to 6 PM. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be provided.
