Lydia Z. Acuna, born on December 29, 1933, in Allende, Coahhuila, Mexico, was called to be with our Lord on September 30, 2017. She was a devout member, Eucharistic Minister and Reader at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for 11 years in The St. Vincent De Paul Society and St. Clare Catholic Church. She was a dedicated volunteer for 12 years at The University Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, Epigmenio and Maria Zamarripa. She is survived by her husband, Aurelio Acuna; children, Ruben Valdez (Maria), Zulema G. Campos (Gene); grandchildren , Michael Gonzales, James Valdez, Mark Valdez, Lydia Garza and Margaret Rios; also, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; siblings, Amalia Solis and Jose Abel Zamarripa.
The Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with The Divine Mercy Service at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart from the Funeral Home on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No.2.
