Luis Willars

He was born April 5, 1913 to Mariano and Guillerma Willars in San Buenaventura, Coahuila, Mexico.

Mr. Willars retired as Assistant Cashier of the National Bank of Commerce in June, 1976 after 30 years of service. He was very active in numerous organizations including the League for Exceptional Children, serving as a Charter Member and President; the Mexican Chamber of Commerce, serving as President; Los Sembradores de Amistad; and El Club de Tiro Pesca.

Mr. Willars was an avid banjo player and had a wide love of music including Dixieland Jazz. He was a very generous and loving family man and will be sorely missed.

Mr. Willars was preceded in death by his wife Josefa Moreno Willars.

He is survived by his wife, Della Livo Willars of Eagle Pass; daughters, Evangeline Sanchez and husband Alex of San Antonio, Delia Perez and husband Michael of Austin; son, Edward Willars and wife Tonia of Spring Branch; step-sons, Johnny Ritchie of Eagle Pass, Michael Ritchie of Eagle Pass, Walter Ritchie and wife Joyce of Seguin; grandchildren, Phillip Sanchez, Eva Tavarez, Tracy Urban, Lisa Pirc, Daniel Willars, Lara Willars, Lydia Willars, Christopher D. Ritchie, Robert T. Ritchie, Kevin Ritchie, Clinton Ritchie, Della "Dinky" Ritchie, Martha Jimenez, Rudy Jimenez, Michael Ritchie, Jr., Karen Martinez, Alexia Ritchie, Walter Ritchie, Jr., Dwayne Ritchie, Jeremy Ritchie and Daryl Ritchie; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Jesus Willars of Corpus Christi; 3 loving sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
