Lucy Gabriel

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Gabriel, who waited for her arrival in heaven. Lucy, “Ma” Gabriel, GG or Lucy Lou, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, worked for forty-four years in Civil Service to the Armed Forces. Upon retirement, she lived her life the way she always wanted -- at home, doing things her way until the very end -- and for this her family is extremely grateful.

Lucy is survived by her children, Danny J. Gabriel, Kenneth L. Gabriel & wife Patricia, Dee A. Gabriel, Kimberly M. Gabriel-Blackwell & husband Roland; her “adopted” daughter, companion and wonderful caregiver, Elizabeth Sullivan; grandchildren, Steven A. Gabriel, Andrew Blackwell, Alexis Blackwell, Xander Blackwell and Megan Sullivan. Lucy will be missed by all who knew her, and forgotten by none.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 12 noon, Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
