Louise Oliver Johnson, 94, went home to her heavenly abode on March 25, 2013. She lived the last four years of her life in the comfort of her grandson Clint Liles’ home with Clint, his wife, and their two daughters. She peacefully passed away with Clint and his wife by her side in her own bed as Clint had promised her. Louise was born on a farm in Montgomery County, Virginia on October 31, 1918, and was raised as a hardworking, proud woman who could take care of things on her own. She was a strong-willed woman who would never give up. She spent endless hours at her hobby of crocheting and gave countless, often personalized items to family and friends. She was an avid bowler, immensely enjoying many happy hours with her friends during bowling competitions and activities. Louise was a kind and generous woman who donated to charities, as well as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was strong in her faith and went to church most Sundays until age 93 and faithfully recorded family births, deaths and marriages in her family bible. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Harry Johnson, daughter Jean Vincenti, five brothers Stanley, Bentley, Donald, Vance, and J.C. Oliver, and two sisters Mildred Johnson and Katherine Costigan. Louise is survived by her three daughters Josephine & Richard Schatz, Barbara & Dan Vincenti, and Kaye Johnson; her three brothers Ward & Estelle Oliver, Robert Oliver, Ira & Melba Oliver, two remaining sisters Doris Jenkins and Phyllis & Tom Hendrickson and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas, 78218 on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 9am-11am with a Funeral Service to take place at 12:00pm.
