Kevin Obed Hernandez was born in San Antonio, TX to Cesar Hugo Hernandez and Edilia Esperanza Godoy on July 19th of 1992. Kevin was raised in a Christian household and taught great values. He was baptized and growing he regularly attended Maranatha Church in San Antonio. Since he was little he liked to sing praises around the house with his guitar. He would sing “ Worthy is he, Hallelujah Hallelujah.” His other passion he found in the game of football. He loved, lived and breathed the game; playing throughout grade, middle and his high school years. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in 2010, he began his studies in kinesiology and continued playing football at Ripon College in Wisconsin. Furthermore, after hanging up his cleats he continued his path in educating and received a Bachelors from Texas A&M San Antonio in 2018, then earned his Master’s Degree in Special Education from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2020. He was a long time member of Extreme Youth Leadership then worked for nearly 4 years at Reagan High as a Special Education teacher, PALS sponsor, and assistant football coach. He was big in stature and big in life. He enjoyed what God called him here to do and it really showed, touching many lives in the process. Like coach would say "The only thing bigger then Kevin is his Heart"
Kevin’s family and friends were especially important to him just as his students, athletes and coworkers throughout his career. He always took care of their needs before his own. His love, care, and generosity towards others truly defined his life.
He is survived by his parents Cesar and Edilia; brothers, Henry, Edder and Jimmy; sisters, Mariela and Keily Hernandez.
Kevin is preceded in death by his grandparents Jovelina Flores, Gonzalo Godoy, Faustino Hernandez; uncle, Leonardo Hernandez; aunt, Marta Hernandez; cousins, Ferdy Guerra, William Medina, Jessenia and Elizabeth Godoy.
