Keith Daryl Smith Jr, born on September 15, 1984, passed away on May 8, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration. Keith was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where he lived a life full of purpose and dedication to his family, career, and community.
Keith was a devoted father and husband who always put his loved ones first. His compassion, kindness, and support were unmatched, and he always found a way to make us feel loved and valued. He was a visionary who encouraged us to think beyond our limits and see the possibilities in everything, no matter how impossible they seemed. He was a problem solver and always had a perfect solution for any challenge we faced. He was a humble and gracious man who went above and beyond to help others succeed and flourish in their goals.
Keith served in the US Army for 20 years as a geospatial and Artificial intelligence technician, and he was passionate about his work. He was a creative and innovative thinker who inspired many to dream big and be great. He just finished his bachelor's degree this year and was constantly learning and growing. He opened his own business and was determined to make his biggest dreams come to life. Keith was a brave and committed man who never gave up, even on his hardest days.
Keith is survived by his loving spouse, Angelic Smith, and their six children, Izaiah, Adrian, Xavier, Zion, Keziah, and Keith III (Trey). He is also survived by his parents, Keith Smith Sr and Betty Debraux, his in-laws, Marixsa and Cecilio Rodriguez and Miguel and Kimberly Davila, and his siblings, Bartina, Virdilia, Tashawa, Jessica, and Daniel.
In lieu of flowers, donations or memorials can be made at Sunset Funeral Home to honor Keith's life and legacy. Keith will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. A visitation for Keith will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 5:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 8:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home 1701 Austin Hwy San Antonio, Texas 78218. Interment to immediate follow at 9:30 AM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd San Antonio, Texas 78218 at the Assembly Area with full Military Honors.
