Juanita L. Guzman

Juanita L. Guzman, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt, was called home by the Lord on February 23, 2011 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hermilo L. Guzman; son, Oscar Joseph Guzman and daughter, Maria Elena Guzman. She is survived by children: Dolores Salazar, Irma E. Flores and husband Tony, Yolanda R. Garcia and husband Pedro, Hermilo L. Guzman, III and wife Mary, Camelia Lopez and husband Tony, Lucille T. Rodarte and husband Edward; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Barajas; numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in Encinal, Texas and graduated from Cotulla High School. She met her loving husband while working at Kelly AFB. They were married on June 24, 1945. She worked as an assistant to a pharmacist and spent several years doing volunteer work at the Baptist Memorial Hospital, downtown. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers for a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m., Mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
