Juan L. Limon Jr.

Juan met his lifelong love, Lelia Garcia Limon in 1950 and married on March 7, 1951. They resided in San Antonio, Texas, where friends surrounded them around every corner. In addition to being a husband & father, he briefly served as a Pastor for a small non-denominational church in Von Ormy, Texas. Juan had an unwavering faith in God, and shared the message of Jesus Christ with everyone. He will be remembered as “Hermano Limon” by many as his spiritual legacy is alive in all the people who shared cafecitos and pan dulce while reading the Bible together with him. As a self-taught musician, Juan loved to play Spanish coritos on his guitar and accordion in worship to God.

His children affectionately remember him as “Dad” and knew him to be a man of prayer and strength. Fond memories include large family gatherings where Juan was surrounded by his children and laughter could be heard throughout the house. Juan enjoyed humor and often spoke in jest with a silly grin or small chuckle. Juan desired unity and love among all of his family members, however the knowledge of Jesus and salvation were paramount above all else.

He is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Santiaga Limon, sister Victoria Ruiz, son Pedro Limon, and daughter Sylvia Barrera.

Juan's legacy will continue through his children: Norma Munoz (Roger), Daniel Limon (Margarita) Delia Sanchez (Richard), Ronald Limon (Kathy), David Limon (Ann), Rebecca Reyes (Basilio), Jana Robertson, and 32 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation for Juan will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211 with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Elevate Ministries, 130 Saipan Pl, 78221 with interment to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery, 20567 TX-16, 78073.
