Joyce H Hopper

Joyce was born in San Antonio, Texas to Wallace and Nell Holder on December 16, 1938. She went to school in San Antonio and Corpus Christi. She married Thomas A Hopper on November 25, 1961, in Corpus Christi. She graduated from University of Corpus Christi she also graduated from Our Lady of The Lake University with a master’s degree in education; worked as a teacher for 5 years, a Head Counselor for 25 years and Chief GED Examiner for 14 years for NISD. She was involved in Delta Kapa Gama. She was awarded GED Examiner of the year. Joyce also loved Baking, Collecting Belleek, Traveling, and Painting.

Joyce Hopper is preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Nell Holder, Sister Nellie Jean Brown and Brother Glen Holder.

Joyce is survived by her husband Thomas Hopper, Children Thomas Jr. and Charles Hopper: Grandchildren Samantha, Carolina, and Cash.

Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238, On December 20, 2023 between 7 and 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held on December 21, 2023 at 10 a.m. Sunset Northwest Funeral Home 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238, with Cheryl Broom of Helotes Hills United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to The NISD Education Fund.
