Joseph R. Weaver Sr.

He is preceded in death by Grandmother Florence Hopkins and his parents Horace and Miriam.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years: Carolyn J Weaver; Son: Joseph R Weaver Jr and his wife Julianne, Gage J Weaver and Grayson D Weaver (Grandchildren); Son: Matthew A Weaver and Trent Weaver (Grandchild).

Joe grew up in Little Rock, AR and attended St. Edwards and then finishing school at the Subiaco Academy. He served in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1986 as a jet engine mechanic and C-5 Flight Engineer and in the Air Force Reserves as a C-5 Flight Engineer from 1990 to 1991. He carried out numerous tours of duty to include service during the Vietnam era and in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He fully retired from military service with honors in 1991. He then moved on to become a school bus driver for the Northeast Independent School District fully retiring in 2010. He was actively involved in his church community at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma. At his church he served in A.C.T.S., Eucharistic Minister and Lector which he contributed with great pride and satisfaction. His love and dedication to his Church, Family and friends is something to be admired and will be greatly missed.

A Rosary service will be held on November 27th 2024 and will begin at 10:30AM followed by Funeral Service at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 16075 N.Evans Rd, Selma, TX 78154. Reception will follow the services, and interment will be held at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery.
