Mr. Jose V. Luna Jr.

He is preceded in death by his father Jose V. Luna Sr., mother Anita Luna, brothers Jaime, Felix, & Samuel Carvajal, sister Josefina Luna.

He is survived by his sister & guardian Rosita S. Escobedo (Roberto), sister Mary Jane Luna, brothers Alberto, Raymond, & Manuel Carvajal, Uncle Joseph (Roy) Kaiser, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews as well.

Although diagnosed with Downs Syndrome at birth, Jose lived a normal, very productive, and active life. He received his high school diploma in May of 1987 from Austin Opportunity School. He worked for many years at Goodwill Industries, Mission Road Ministries (Unicorn Centers) & at his nephew’s restaurant, Las Chiladas, where he was named “Director of Customer Relations”. He enjoyed many customer’s meal time with much fun and laughter. His first passion & love was his family & friends, always taking time to greet especially the youngest ones. All strangers became dear friends upon an introduction to Jose. Everyone knew about his unique love for military attire & medals, especially for the United States Air Force. He always wore the “Uniform” with much pride and respect. He could always be seen with a military cap usually given to him by current and former military service members who always received an “ATTENTION!!” and a crisp & solemn salute for their service. His love for wrestling was a lifetime dedication. There was no greater fan for WWE & River City Wrestling. He attended as many wrestling events as possible. He’d happily Show you his strong biceps for you to squeeze to prove just how strong he was! There was none like Jose when it came to the dance floor! You’d have to literally pull him away from it. Many ladies marveled at his dance moves wether Michael Jackson/Pop, Cumbias or Country! And, at times, he’d somehow, make his way up to the stage and sing into a microphone. He Loved the Spurs, often shouting, “Go Spurs Go”! He enjoyed cross country trips with his sister Rosie & husband Robé to California & Mexico to visit family & friends, and enjoying restaurants along the way, rodeos, cook outs and more dancing!

Jose was dedicated to serving the Lord. A member of Westover Hills Spanish Church, he enjoyed times of Worship, Praise & Prayer. He was always willing to pray for you and Always shared a Prayer of Thanksgiving for All of his meals with those at the table to Fellowship & break bread.

No one was loved, cared, or pampered more than our Jose & no one gave back as much.
