Legendary Charro and Horseman, Jose de Jesus Diaz, BKA “Don Pepe Diaz,” born on May 4, 1919 in Mazamitla Jalisco, Mexico on Palos Verdes Ranch, entered into rest on March 19, 2015. He married Rosa Guajardo in 1957, at the San Fernando Cathedral; one of the first Charro Wedding Celebrations that occurred in San Antonio, TX. Don Pepe spent his years working as a Master Horseman and Instructor. He was an original forefather of Charros that introduced La Charreria in the U.S. Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed. He was a hero to many and his legacy will live on forever. He is preceded in death by: 1 grandson: Jacob Aguirre. He leaves his beloved wife of 57 years Rosa Guajardo Diaz, 3 children: Martha (Jimmy) Aguirre, Gerado (Stacie) Diaz, and Jose (Norma) Diaz; 12 siblings, 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, numerous relatives and friends. A visitation will begin on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd, 5:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 9:30 am for a 10:00 graveside service at San Fernando Cemetery No. 2.
