John N. Rutherford Sr.

John N. Rutherford, Sr., age 75, passed away June 5, 2020 in San Antonio, TX. He was born in San Antonio, TX on May 7, 1945 to John N. & Mary Rutherford. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather & friend who will be dearly missed. He lived a long and full life retiring twice. First from the U.S. Air Force where he served 21 years and reached the rank of Master Sargent. Second from the Alamo Community College District where he worked in the Physics Department for 18 years.

Mr. Rutherford was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by wife, Desideria “Desi” Rutherford; sons, John N. Rutherford, Jr. and Duncan Scott Rutherford; daughter, Catherine Whalen; grandchildren, Taylor, Macy, Noble, Grant, Grayson, Natalie, Connor, Bailey and Aidan; great-grandchildren, Leandro, Amelia and Logan.

There will be a private Memorial Service Graveside on Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital.
