John Alan Lee

John Lee was born March 21, 1943, in Watertown, New York, to Alan and Josephine (LaChiusa) Lee. He graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy in 1960 and also attended SUNY-Buffalo and Canisius College.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1968. In 1974, he moved to Texas and spent the next 28 years working in the hospitality industry at the St. Anthony Hotel, La Mansion del Norte, Corpus Christi Yacht Club, Hilton Palacio del Rio and Boudro’s: a Texas Bistro on the Riverwalk.

He and his wife, Heidi, shared 26 wonderful years together in San Antonio.

John is survived by his loving wife, Heidi; and from his previous marriage with the late Shirley Lee; his eldest son Mark Alan Lee and wife Miera of San Antonio and grandchildren, Zachary, Mark Jr. and Scarlett and his son Todd Alan Lee and wife Alexandra of Austin. He is also survived by his sister, Scarlett Lee Kinley and husband Raymond of Albany, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents Alan and Josephine Lee and sister Sandra Lee Baker. He will be greatly missed by his adoring five nieces, two nephews and their families and numerous friends.

To honor his memory and celebrate his life, a service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, January 6th at the Hope Gazebo at Sunset Memorial Park at 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218 with Reverend Raymond Woodruff officiating. There will be an open house at his home following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Downs Syndrome Association of CNY, PO Box 5, Manlius, NY 13104 in John’s memory or a personal charity.
