Joan M. Lund

Joan M Lund died peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2014 just one week shy of her 74th birthday. Born May 25, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY, she was raised in Mahanoy City, PA and graduated from Mahanoy City High School in 1957. After graduation Joan moved to Philadelphia, PA where she met her husband of 50 years, Jack Lund; they were married on July 6, 1963. Although trained as medical assistant, Joan chose to be a full time mother, and housewife, and volunteered time as an aide in the school systems and with the Human Needs Center. With her husband Jack, she lived in Philadelphia, Pa and Novato, CA before moving to San Antonio, TX in 1992. Joan enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She traveled with Jack to Europe and Asia and extensively within the States. Joan was preceded in death by her mother, Anne R (Kralick) Andrew. She is survived by her husband and by her sons Brian of San Antonio and Scott and his wife Thayer of New Orleans. The family will receive friends from 8:00 AM to noon on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Sunset North Funeral Home.
