First of all my condolences to Jim’s family. I was shocked to hear the news of Jim’s passing. Jim was a good friend of our family. He was there at many of our children’s birthday parties and family get togethers. Jim was alway pleasant to be around and talk to. I know that Jim is celebrating his reward when God welcomed him into His arms.  Well done good and faithful servant. 

I worked with Jim at KENS-TV back in the 1980s. It was always a pleasure working with him.  He was always very helpful and at times made me laugh with one of his jokes or would give some good advice about things. In later years we kept in touch on Facebook and once again he would always have nice comments to say on things I posted. I will miss Jim very much. He was a true friend.

May God comfort you and your family during this difficult time. You guys are in my prayers. .... God Bless

I am still having a hard time believing he is gone.  May you find solace knowing he touched so many lives.  In all our conversations he always gave thanks to The Good Lord for all his blessings.  My love for Luis Miguel is because he introduced me to his music and I can honestly say my thoughts go to Jim whenever I hear a Luis Miguel song.  Until we meet again, Rest In Peace dear friend.      I had the pleasure of working  with Jim at KENS-TV in the Engineering department.  He had a great personality and  was fun to work with.  Jim had a way of saying something funny that always made me laugh.  
     My condolences to his family.  You all are in my prayers.  Please, take comfort in knowing that Jim is alive and well in heaven, with our Lord Jesus and someday we will see him again.

Jim and I worked at KENS but in different departments, Jim was in engineering and I was in News.  We both worked the late shift for a long time and he would be the man at the other end of the two way when I needed to set up for a live shot.  He didn't wast time getting me set up.  When I returned to the station we would both work on a cup of coffee and talk about the event I covered.  There were times he would go with me on live shots and a few times he would set up the truck while I was covering the story as it would be right up to the last minute.

Jim was one of the guys you could depend on. 

H will be missed by those who worked with him and those who knew him.

I worked with Jim in the 70's,80's and some of the 90's(I think) at KENS-TV- first at ave E & 4th and then later on Fred Rd. Jim was a hoot. He had a comedic mind and we had a lot of laughs. I have thought about him from time to time and hoped to see him again.We will have a reunion but it will be sometime in the future.My prayers go out to his family and to anyone who knew him.He will be missed.John Skaggs

I met Jim while he was dating my dear friend Patricia Delgado. Both Jim and Pat loved to dance. We’d meet them at various venues. Jim and I became friends fast. He admired my work in radio ad I eventually hired him part time to work weekends on KRIO. We remained good friends ever since. I appreciated his friendship very much. He will be missed. May he Rest In Peace! God bless!

Jim is survived by his mother, Gregoria Garcia and children; Karissa Garcia Longoria (Roger), Kristal Rose Cuevas (Eduardo Jr.), Zachary J. Garcia (Melina). Grandchildren; Christopher Tenorio, Jasmine Tenorio, Jiselle Tenorio, Isaiah Tenorio, Maya Cuevas, Benicio Cuevas, Zoryen J. Garcia, Zayden J. Garcia, and Marley A. Garcia. Siblings; Linda Garcia Linares, Michael Garcia (Shellie), Pedro C. Garcia, Veronica Garcia Zuniga (Joe). Followed by numerous nieces and nephews.


He is preceded in death by his beloved father, Epifanio L. Garcia and brother, Anthony C. Garcia.
