Jesús Antonio Garza, age 68, of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully on the morning of October 30, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila on November 11, 1953. Jesús was a school teacher in Mexico before moving to the United States where he later became a U.S. citizen.
Jesús was known to his friends and family as Chuy. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his favorite teams play including the San Antonio Spurs, the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at barbecues and family gatherings. Jesús was an active member at Cornerstone Church and previously served in several volunteer roles at El Templo Cristiano A/G. Jesús was employed at J&J Worldwide Services at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) where he celebrated 15 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesús and San Juanita Garza; his sister, Florinda Valdez; brothers, Miguel Garza and Nicolas Garza.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Valdez Garza; sisters, Gloria Tapia, Estela Garza, Maria Elena Garza and Bertha Ubando. He is loved by many members of the Valdez family, whom he considered as immediate family, which includes his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Jesús will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, followed by a chapel service from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM.
