Her husband’s military career took them to Randolph Air Force Base, on 2 tours in Germany, 2 years in Ohio and then to San Antonio, Texas where they lived until 1981. They moved to Rockport and then moved to New Braunfels, Texas in 1993.
She was a member of New Braunfels Presbyterian Church. They danced all of their 62 years of marriage and I know they are now dancing across heaven! They also square danced and were members of several square dance clubs everywhere they lived.
Jean graduated from Trinity University and later got her Master’s from Incarnate Word. She taught history at Irving Junior High, Roosevelt High School and South San West Campus.
Jean was a true southern belle and she shared her love with all who knew her. And everyone that knew her knew she was an avid Alabama Football fan. Roll Tide!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Faye Hancock, her brother, Walter Hancock, Jr., her husband, John, and her son, Richard Morgan. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Durham (John) of Cibolo. She was Mama Jean to grandchildren John Teske (Lisa), Jeff Teske (Jo Ann), Jill Porter (Matt), Scott Durham (Darlene)all of Schertz and Brett Durham (Lourdes)of St Hedwig and great grandchildren Logan, Lauren, Joey and Jake Teske, Fayeth and Graycee Porter, Cory, Jared, Nathan, Colin, and Christian Durham, Abby Adams and Heaven Suarez. Serving as pallbearers will be John Teske, Jeff Teske, Scott Durham, Brett Durham, Matt Porter and Logan Teske. A service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home with burial service to follow on March 16, at 4:00.
