Janie Louise Scott born on May 1, 1933 in Dinwiddie, VA entered into rest on November 27, 2009 at the age of 76. She was a graduate of St. Paul’s College of Lawrenceville Virginia. Mrs. Scott fulfilled her lifelong dream teaching elementary and junior high school for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Scott after 50 years of marriage; and her brother, Luther Thomas Scott, Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Holmes & husband Bernard; grandchildren, Alisha Scott-Holmes, Jamaal Holmes, Delphia Holmes and Johnie Lee Scott-Holmes all of Lake Jackson, TX; brother, Willie Vinson Scott & wife Alma of Wilmington, DE; sister-in-law, Avonne Scott of Petersburg, VA; nephews, André Scott & wife Kristine of Australia and Luther Thomas Scott, Jr. and wife Annie of Hopewell, VA. Visitation will be held from 9-10 am on Friday~December 4, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 10:45 am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
