To Janice's Immediate Family Members:

Janice and I were co-workers at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (now AT&T- from 1964 to 1969) in San Antonio, before I started moving around on various job assignments to different cities with S.W.B.T. During those five years, we were both clerks in the Mailing and Balancing Unit of Joanna Safir. I was the mail boy who mailed out all the telephone bills that Janice help insert the long distance statements into to the bill flap. As a unit, we were like family in those days. We periodically had a luncheon in the unit where everyone brought something and we had an annual Accounting Department picnic at various parks.

After I graduated from college in January 1969, I became the supervisor of that unit, but Janice had since transferred elsewhere in Accounting. I believe Janice either tried out for or was one of the five S.W.B.T. Hemisphere Hostesses in 1968.

Ironically, I spent some 23 years at the 1010 N. St. Mary's SBC Building (1964 to 1969 and again in 1976 to 1994). I feel sure our paths crossed again over the years at one of the SBC buildings, even though I don't think either of us would have recognized the other as folks tend to change in appearance so much over the years. I worked in the 4th and 5th floor computer rooms at 1010 and had an office on the 9th floor from 1984-1990 and I feel sure Janice was somewhere in that 14 story building where we both worked or perhaps at 4119 Broadway.

It is easy to understand your grief as my own brother's funeral was in June 2009. He too lived in Devine from 1963-2009 and his wife, son, daughter, and grandson still live there. I share your empathy and know your pain. My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead. 

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
