James M Sweeney Jr.

James is preceded in death by his wife Mary Sweeney, and parents, James M. Sweeney Sr., and Micaela Macias Sweeney.

He is survived by his children, Cindy, James, and Laura Sweeney, brother Arthur Sweeney, granddaughters, Jessica (Julian) Barrera, Jillian (Oscar) Ramon, and beloved grandson James (Pam), great grandsons and fishing buddies, Austin and Nolan Sweeney, neighbors Paul and Mary Rodriguez, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

James retired from Kelly Air Force Base in 1987. He was one of the first Aldermen for the City of Von Ormy. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and was a big fan of the New York Giants and Boston Red Socks.

A visitation for James will be held Monday, November 20, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 13466 Interstate 35 South, Von Ormy, TX 78073 with a Rosary at 7:00PM. Mass will be celebrated, Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery, 20567 TX-16, Von Ormy, TX 78073.
